Full Frame Documentary Film Festival draws record attendance
5/22/2013: .

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival has announced another year of tremendous growth. Drawing record attendance, the annual four-day festival, held April 4-7, yielded $2.375 million for the local economy, an increase of $275,000 from 2012. The event generated close to $84,000 in tax revenue for the City of Durham as well, according to the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau, an increase of $11,000 from 2012.

"That is a 13.7 percent bump up from last year, a number that Full Frame should be very proud of," says Shelly Green, Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau's CEO. Festival organizers reported an overall increase in attendees, hosting more than 12,000 patrons and selling out a record 46 events.

"It is thrilling to know that Full Frame continues to bring excellence and prestige to Durham, but it's also gratifying to know that the festival is an economic engine for the city that we call home," says Deirdre Haj, Full Frame's executive director.
