Lambert Architecture + Interiors honored for Duke education project
5/3/2012: .

Lambert Architecture + Interiors of Winston-Salem has received professional recognition for a project at Duke University in Durham. Specifically, the company was awarded honorable mention for government/institutional design at the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) DesignWorks competition for its work on Duke University's Smith Warehouse in Durham.

The Duke Smith Warehouse Student Services Center was constructed within a portion of the renovated shell of a 100-plus-year-old former tobacco warehouse. Lambert's quest was to create flexible office and program space for more than 15 programmatically diverse departments. Groups move into and out of the building on a frequent basis, so spaces were designed to be reconfigurable to serve subsequent occupants with relative ease.

IIDA is a professional networking and educational association of 13,000 members in 10 specialty practice forums and 31 chapters around the world.
